NBA Star, Doug Christie, Announced as Presenter at the 19th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards

NBA star, Doug Christie, has been selected as a presenter for the 19th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards being held on August 31, 2009 at 7 P.M. (PT) at the Director's Guild of America in Los Angeles, California. Doug Christie's support of theatre includes his directorial debut for the "Christies Un-Cut," a comedy play, as well as a screenplay he is co-writing with his wife, bestselling author and TV reality star Jackie Christie, about her new bestselling book, 'Proud To Be A COLORED GIRL.' The Christies will co-produce this project under Infinite Love Productions next spring.

The Christies' film/television company, Infinite Love Productions, which is known for producing "The Christies: Committed," a hit reality TV show that aired on BETJ, and the "Christies Un-Cut," a hit comedy play about the Christies' life inside the NBA, which was distributed worldwide on DVD. Currently the NBA power couple is filming the "Christies Un-Cut: Volume 2," slated for release in fall 2010.

The 19th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards is celebrating the organization's 100th Year Anniversary and will honor a full slate of honorees including Audra McDonald (Tony Award-Winner/Grammy Award-Winner) for Trailblazer Award, Tichina Arnold (CW's "Everybody Hates Chris") for the Spirit Award, Ruben Santiago-Hudson (ABC's "Castle") for Lifetime Achievement, and Sheldon Epps (Director of UPN's "Girlfriends") for the Community Service Award. This year's award show will also include musical performances by Grammy-Nominated artist, Ledisi.
