Hunger Program For Haiti Earthquake Victims

Recently, celebrity chef Ron Duprat and former model Fayola Nicaisse visited Haiti to examine conditions six months after the devastating January 12, 2010 magnitude 7.0 earthquake centered near PORT-AU-PRINCE. Overcome by the deplorable post-earthquake living conditions and hunger still rampant in their homeland, Duprat and Nicasse became more determined than ever to do something to address the still existent near famine conditions. Chef Duprat has partnered with Bergeron Land Development, Inc. to establish a culinary center in Haiti in an effort to help alleviate hunger in affected areas.

Duprat teamed up with Nicaisse - who is the founder of the highly-successful ébène organic skin and hair care line - shortly after the earthquake in a common love for their country and their eagerness to contribute to relief efforts. To meet their collective goal they are also currently working on expanding her line of skin care products. A percentage of the products' proceeds will benefit their continued relief efforts in Haiti.

"Ron is an amazing chef," Nicaisse commented. "I asked him to develop new flavors for my product line. Chef Ron and I will collaborate and build from there by borrowing from his culinary expertise to add flavors and scents to soaps and lotions in my ébène Skin and Hair Care line." She continued, "The idea is to incorporate extracts and spices from different Haitian cultural dessert dishes to share a little taste of home with our customers, while contributing to a great cause."

While in Haiti, Duprat prepared a dinner at Caribe Hotel; visited shelters; met with young entrepreneurs from the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF); and served meals at the Food for the Poor feeding center.

Extremely disturbed by what he found, Duprat said "We went to L'hopital general [Haitian community hospital] and cite soleil [Sun City, an extremely impoverished and densely populated commune located in the PORT-AU-PRINCE metropolitan area] it's inhuman." He also visited a chicken farm as he plans to partner with Perdue, one of the nation's leading poultry companies, to obtain training for Haitians to learn to raise chickens for their own consumption, but most importantly to establish businesses and create jobs. Duprat explains, "This effort is a marathon, not a sprint."

The Roots "The Fire" feat. John Legend

NEFEW ENLIST DJ GREEN LANTERN FOR NEW PROJECT

DJ GREEN LANTERN COLLABORATES WITH NEFEW FOR NEW PROJECT

After the rampant success of their Antihero Begins mixtape released in the Spring, Hip-Hop duo, Nefew knew the pressure would be on to equal if not better the buzz that their 2DopeBoyz and Puma presented project caused. Having been hard at work since April on new concepts and ideas for their follow up, Polemikk and PA Double have aligned themselves with a strong supporting cast for their sophomore free download, MAN VS MANY.

With the guidance, direction and assistance of world renowned DJ, Green Lantern, Nefew know they are in capable hands on this project. Opting to work with an eclectic bunch of musicians, producers and performers is a rarity for the European based duo, but was embraced for MAN VS MANY. These unions continue to showcase their capabilities in creating music, solidifying their name and brand in Hip-Hop.

“It’s definitely a privilege to work with Green Lantern on our second official mixtape. Hip Hop and music fans can look forward to a rap album with epic production and a lot of depth. The concept behind “Man vs. Many” is simple: Be yourself and don’t follow trends. If you’re talented and you’re willing to work hard for what you believe in, you’ll get there, although you might face a lot of conflicts along the way, mostly with yourself. ”- POLEMIKK

“This mixtape is going to be enormous, much stronger than the antihero begins and I’m very happy with the selection of collaborations. I don’t believe in randomly picking artists just to have a feature to generate a buzz. The features we picked are artists that follow similar musical values, and you’ll soon find out that we achieved a perfect match. This is a great opportunity for us to really to expand and show the world who Nefew is and what we stand for.”PA DOUBLE

MAN VS MANY will be available in September and will compliment what NEFEW have been up to in between their two 2010 releases. Relentless work in the studio combined with intricate planning for this release will see this musical chapter as welcomed, as it is influential.
