MTV JAMS HOSTS "PHILLY DAY" THIS SUNDAY, MAY 2 FEATURING VIDEOS FROM PHILADELPHIAS TOP ARTISTS

Join MTV Jams this Sunday as it hosts “Philly Day,” a hip hop homecoming featuring the city’s hottest artists including The Roots, Beanie Sigel, Eve, and many more. The “Philly Day” showdown will also include the world premiere of “She Makes Me Feel Alright” by Freeway. “Philly Day” will give the audience a look inside the music and the culture of the city and provide viewers with the best jams around the clock. Segments from emerging artists like Meek Mill, Gillie Da Kid, Tone Trump and Gilbere Forte will also bring viewers closer to the people of Philly.



"We’re doing this to showcase the depth, diversity and musical wealth of Philadelphia’s contribution to R&B and hip hop culture,” says Tuma Basa, Sr. Director of MTV’s Music & Talent. “This is also a chance for us to make history by introducing some of Philly’s up-and-coming talent to the rest of the country."



Along with the City of Philadelphia’s Creative Ambassador, Marc Byers, MTV Jams takes viewers back in time with some of Philly’s top classic videos from artist like The Fresh Prince & DJ Jazzy Jeff, Steady B, and Schoolly D before fast forwarding to some of Philly’s up and coming artists including . To further encourage Philadelphians to express their pride and joy for the city, fans should hit up Twitter to make #PhillyDay the #1 trending topic this Sunday.
