Jacki-O Gets Real with Lil Red Riding Hood - New Album February 2009

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usSince Jacki-O's introduction to airwaves with the hit song "Nookie" in 2003, the Miami rap maven has maintained her standing as an artist to watch. Now Jacki-O is back on the scene with her sophomore album Lil Red Riding Hood, slated for release on February 24, 2009 on Jacki-O's own Jackmove Entertainment in conjunction with Gracie Productions and EMI. With the current single "Baby Mama" already receiving an incredible reaction, and Jacki-O is positively geared for the next phase of her career.

Jacki-O rose to Hip Hop stardom with her 2004 debut album Poe Little Rich Girl (Poe Boy/TVT), and subsequent singles "Fine" featuring the Ying Yang Twins, "Break You Off" with Jazze Pha and "Sugar Walls," which was featured in the Queen Latifah film Beauty Shop. Jacki-O was poised to win with powerhouses like Timbaland, Cool & Dre, Trick Daddy, Ghostface Killah and more on Poe Little Rich Girl. Unfortunately, after the release of the album, challenges in the label situation and other industry woes overshadowed Jacki-O's rising star.

As veracious in business as she is voluptuous, Jacki-O set out on her own in 2005 to pursue independent ventures. She set up her own Jackmove Entertainment label and got to work on some mixtapes, simultaneously recording tracks with her next full-length project in mind.

Jacki-O's new single "Baby Mama" has already sparked a buzz for the upcoming Lil Red Riding Hood album. While the verses in the song are true to Jacki-O's racy lyrical style, there is a poignant meaning behind it. The days of women being satisfied with being simply a 'baby mama' are long gone, and it's time that the beauty of courtship, marriage and a bonding relationship are a part of the plan.

“When I say ‘baby mama’ I affectionately use it as another slang for ‘be your girl’," Jacki-O explains. "I can remember playing with dolls as a young girl, dreaming of the day that I would marry and have kids, and I think most women have. It’s nothing negative, it’s just real life.”

Jacki-O has taken a refreshing approach to the music on Lil Red Riding Hood, enlisting production from stellar up-and-comers like Justice League, Usual Suspects, Gorilla Tek and more. It is truly a new day with exciting opportunities, and Jacki-O is ready to seize the moment. Lil Red Riding Hood represents more than independence for the Dade County darling - it's about growth, perception and maturity.

"With my new music, I would like people to know that, despite my raunchy lyrics, I am real," says Jacki-O. "I’m sincere about what I do, and regardless of what has been put out there about me, my talent will speak for itself.”
