Jimmy Crockett Rolls in as the "Cadillac Man" with Debut CD Release

Recording Artist
Jimmy Crockett

Rolls in as the
"Cadillac Man"

with Debut CD Release
Jimmy Crockett "Cadillac Man"
Sacramento, CA - When Jimmy Crockett strolls in the room and starts to strummin' keys and slanging grooves, it's like he's taking us on a ride in a vintage automobile and we are cruising 'round the highway bend. We can't help but catch the vibe and just ride right along with him. Serving up an eclectic collection of silky vocals over tracks that deliciously blend jazz, rock and funk infused R&B, his debut release, "Cadillac Man" is a trunk full of gems, hearkening seventies sensibilities. He pleasures our old school memories with rhythms that recall Average White Band meets Steely Dan.

"Cadillac Man" is cool. It's funky. And it's groovin'!

Just who is this Jimmy Crockett, penning songs that melt hearts and stir souls with the sound of his voice and his laid back storytelling abilities? Simply put, Jimmy Crockett is a burgeoning lyrical "magician" and keyboardist with a voice as soothing as hot chocolate on an ice cold winter's night. Recently nominated by the Northern California Chapter of the Black Music Association & Academy of America for an 8th Annual Sacramento "Sounds Of Soul Music" Award in the categories Best Male R&B Performer, Best New Artist, and Entertainer of the Year, it becomes apparent this Cadillac Man is just getting started!

Crockett began honing his vocal and songwriting skills in his youth, and wrote his "first real song" in high school. "I was always making up little melodies since I can remember. I started to add some words to my jingles when I was about 10," reveals Crockett.

Attributing his musical interests to his mother, Crockett stated, "My mother always had music in our house; Nat King Cole, The Mills Brothers and Mahalia Jackson." At just 12 years old, Crockett was compelled to take piano lessons being heavily influenced by his favorite musical wonder, Ramsey Lewis.

A compelling and authentic artist with a reputation for "telling it like it is," Crockett's inspiration for writing "Cadillac Man" came about during his brief stint as a gambler a few years ago. Captivated by gambler's lives, Crockett (who has since retired from the profession) began writing about experiences that were close to home and his heart. His "Tie with Me," "Bartender Lady," "Policeman," and "Betty's Song," are musical reflections of his past. With authentic lyrics and enchanting rhythms, Crockett's incomparable musical perfection is further realized on the blues tinged track "She's Still Comin' Back," the rockin' "Cadillac Man" and the breezy "Fly Away."

While Crockett writes all the songs, sings, and plays keys, he is joined by his band members Jerry Jennings on guitar, Nick Eble on bass, Jimmy Bagshaw on drums and Marcelled Maldonado serving up additional vocals.

Crockett hopes to continue to create music that will inspire and have a positive impact on his steadily rising global fan base. His core message is, "Do the right thing and be a good person." Not bad advice coming from a "Cadillac Man" who's been there and knows!

NEFEW ENLIST DJ GREEN LANTERN FOR NEW PROJECT

DJ GREEN LANTERN COLLABORATES WITH NEFEW FOR NEW PROJECT

After the rampant success of their Antihero Begins mixtape released in the Spring, Hip-Hop duo, Nefew knew the pressure would be on to equal if not better the buzz that their 2DopeBoyz and Puma presented project caused. Having been hard at work since April on new concepts and ideas for their follow up, Polemikk and PA Double have aligned themselves with a strong supporting cast for their sophomore free download, MAN VS MANY.

With the guidance, direction and assistance of world renowned DJ, Green Lantern, Nefew know they are in capable hands on this project. Opting to work with an eclectic bunch of musicians, producers and performers is a rarity for the European based duo, but was embraced for MAN VS MANY. These unions continue to showcase their capabilities in creating music, solidifying their name and brand in Hip-Hop.

“It’s definitely a privilege to work with Green Lantern on our second official mixtape. Hip Hop and music fans can look forward to a rap album with epic production and a lot of depth. The concept behind “Man vs. Many” is simple: Be yourself and don’t follow trends. If you’re talented and you’re willing to work hard for what you believe in, you’ll get there, although you might face a lot of conflicts along the way, mostly with yourself. ”- POLEMIKK

“This mixtape is going to be enormous, much stronger than the antihero begins and I’m very happy with the selection of collaborations. I don’t believe in randomly picking artists just to have a feature to generate a buzz. The features we picked are artists that follow similar musical values, and you’ll soon find out that we achieved a perfect match. This is a great opportunity for us to really to expand and show the world who Nefew is and what we stand for.”PA DOUBLE

MAN VS MANY will be available in September and will compliment what NEFEW have been up to in between their two 2010 releases. Relentless work in the studio combined with intricate planning for this release will see this musical chapter as welcomed, as it is influential.
