Former Hot Boy and “Living Legend” B.G. is back to take the streets as he unleashes his new, long-awaited album, Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood, slated for release by E1 Music/Chopper City Records/Atlantic Records on November 24th.
B.G. wrote and recorded over 80 songs for the new album and narrowed them down over time to include only the best of the best! Over 3 years in the making, Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood features B.G.’s classic shoot ‘em up, bang bang flow that fans have come to know and love. With over 3.3 million albums sold as a solo artist, and 2.1 albums sold as a member of The Hot Boyz, B.G. has created another classic with Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood.
The first single, “Back to The Money,” with production by Oddz n Endz, explains B.G.’s return to the rap game and why he’s been away for so long. “Back To The Money” will be followed by the second single, “My Hood” featuring Mannie Fresh. “My Hood” is a true testament to the progression B.G. has made with his music. With the creative Mannie Fresh sounds and B.G.’s hard verses and classic flow, the track proves Gizzle is right on target
B.G. a/k/a B. Gizzle is a true hood superstar. As a grimy N’Awlins HOT BOY and the true originator of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary term “bling-bling,” B.G. has overcome incredible personal and professional strife while consistently putting out bangers year after year. Now with 14 years under his belt (and only 29 years old), B.G.’s new album Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood is “Baby Gangsta’s” 11th solo album to date and his long-awaited, often delayed follow-up to The Heart of Tha Streetz, Vol. 2.
“Sometimes I am denied my props but it’s cool,” says B.G. “I am coming back and taking everything the game owes me. It doesn’t owe me anything but respect. I’m still the hottest of the hot. At the end of the day, I just want the respect I truly deserve.”
Alan Grunblatt, President of E1 Music adds, “B.G. is the artist that put E1 Music (KOCH Records) on the map. He is an original Hot Boy and we are so excited to have him back.”
Atlantic Records Group Chairman & CEO Craig Kallman noted, “B.G. is an iconic artist who has been a force on the hip-hop scene for more than 15 years. His rare longevity is a testament to B.G.’s enormous talent, charisma, and influence. We’re very happy to be partnering with Chopper City and E1 for the release of his much-anticipated new album.”
B.G.’s Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood includes killer production from Scott Storch, KLC, Cool & Dre, Oddz n’ Endz, Justice League, Salvage, and more. Special guest features include Lil Wayne, T.I., Juvenile, Trey Songz, Yo Gotti, Young Jeezy, Lil Boosie, and many more!
While signed to Ca$h Money, B.G. released a string of albums, including True Story (1993), Chopper City (1997), and 1997’s It’s All On U (Volumes 1 and 2). He further bolstered his status by becoming a member of the now legendary Hot Boys (Juvenile, Lil Wayne, and Young Turk). B.G.’s Chopper City in the Ghetto (released in April 1999), debuted at Number 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. But what really put him on the map was the album’s anthem, “Bling Bling,” which catapulted B.G. to superstardom. He became a part of history when the term “bling-bling,” used to describe diamonds, was added into The Oxford English Dictionary, a testament to hip-hop’s effect on modern and pop culture.
