VH1 HIP-HOP HONORS TO COMMEMORATE THE 25th ANNIVERSARY OF DEF JAM RECORDS

The 6th annual “VH1 Hip Hop Honors” show will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Def Jam Records, as talents from across all artistic genres come together to celebrate this significant milestone in American hip-hop music. Eminem, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Fabolous, Ludacris, DMX, Mary J. Blige, Redman, The Roots, Method Man, ONYX, Public Enemy, Warren G, Kid Rock, Chris Rock, Jimmy Fallon, Brett Ratner, Trey Songz, Ja Rule, Gym Class Heroes, and Scarface are scheduled to show up and show out to celebrate the label that served a catalyst for this American musical phenomenon.

“VH1 Hip Hop Honors 2009” will be taped from the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York. “30 Rock’s” Tracy Morgan returns as host for the 3rd year, as he will be joined many of hip-hop biggest luminaries. The “VH1 Hip Hop Honors 2009” broadcast will premiere on VH1 on Tuesday, October 13 at 9PM ET/PT.*

Def Jam has launched the careers of some of the biggest names in music history and has inspired other emerging labels and artists. Special homage will be paid to the architects of the label, Rick Rubin, Russell Simmons, Kevin Liles, Lyor Cohen, Julie Greenwald, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Antonio “L.A.” Reid (Chairman Island Def Jam Music Group). Presenters and performers honor the history and the legacy of Def Jam Records through never-seen-before interviews, archival footage and special musical performances of some of Def Jam’s greatest hits. It promises to be a night that will showcase how Def Jam came and remains to be one of the premier record labels of hip-hop music.

Hip-Hop Singer/MTV/VH1 PERSONALITY AMANDA DIVA HOSTS BENEFIT GALA & CONCERT IN NORTH CAROLINA

11, 2009 that recording artist, author, poet and media personality
Amada Diva will host Nappy Luv 7.5 in Charlotte , NC on Saturday April
11, 2009 and in Raleigh , NC on Sunday April 12, 2009.

Nappy Luv
7.5 is an annual event series that molds music, art, dance, fashion and
poetry in to one festive occasion.  This year's efforts are aimed at
bringing attention to the technological resource based war in the
Democratic Republic of Congo.

Amanda Diva is a multi-talented
Columbia University graduate that made her debut on Nickelodeon at the
age of 12 on the sitcom My Brother and Me.  After graduation she hosted
shows on MTV2, VH1 and SIRIUS.  In 2007 Amanda Diva replaced Natalie
Stewart as a member of the group Floetry on their tour.  Most recently
Amanda Diva released the free EP Spandex, Rhymes & Soul in March
2009.

The Charlotte stop for Nappy Luv 7.5 is being billed as
"The Photo.Conscious Edition and will be held April 11, 2009 at the
Hart-Witzen Art Gallery and Theater at 116 W. 36TH Street in the city's
arts district, NoDa.  A who's who of Charlotte 's politically engaged
socialites, tastemakers and creative class will enjoy an open bar
catered event featuring live performances and art before partying the
rest of the night away while models wearing fashions of the DRC
Clothing Company conduct a photo shoot in the background.

On
April 12th the show moves to the Lincoln Theater in Raleigh, North
Carolina for Nappy Luv 7.5: The Bloody Tech-Knowledge-Y Concert
featuring host and performer Amanda Diva, Hip-Hop artist Median, Grammy
Award winning producer 9th Wonder, soulstress Jocelyn Ellis featuring
band Alpha Theory, urban folk starlet Lizh, and many more.
