PHAROAHE MONCH COMMEMORATES TENTH YEAR OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS ALBUM WITH A LIVE SHOW IN BROOKLYN

SPUTNIK, the Brooklyn nightclub and restaurant, announced today that it will host a live show for fans to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the iconic Hip-Hop album, INTERNAL AFFAIRS, along with (Rapper) Pharoahe Monch. "The 10th Anniversary Party of Internal Affairs" is slated for Saturday, October 17th 2009 at Sputnik and will boast a stellar line up of special invited guests, some of whom appeared on the original album when it was released in 1999.

The Internal Affairs album (Rawkus Records/Hollywood Records), led by the mega-hit "Simon Says," was well-received as the aggressive solo debut from Pharoahe Monch, formerly of the rap duo Organized Konfusion, and went on to sell over 200,000 copies. It has been heralded as one of the best Hip-Hop albums of all time by music industry insiders.

"It's hard to believe it's been ten years since "Internal Affairs" dropped. That album featured some of the best artists in Hip-Hop, so we're really excited to celebrate the 10th anniversary with Monch, and bring Hip-Hop fans a killer line up of talent for the night," said event organizer, Vic Black. Other noteworthy talent confirmed to appear includes (DJ/Producer) DJ J.Period, who was named one of the Top 5 Deejays in 2007 by MTV and is featured on the new DJ Hero™ video game released this year by Activision.

News of the anniversary celebration comes as Pharoahe Monch announced the launch of his new independent record label W.A.R Media, which will release his album entitled W.A.R in early 2010. W.A.R is an acronym for We Are Renegades. "I'm gearing up for a tour in Australia, Japan and New Zealand later this year, and the 10th anniversary of IA is the perfect opportunity to reflect and re-energize with the fans," said Monch.

Advance tickets for the show are on sale online at BrownPaperTickets.com for fifteen dollars ($15) in advance and eighteen dollars ($18) the night of the event.

For more information about this event, or to schedule an interview with Pharoahe Monch, call Trina Perrineau (347) 496-7680 or e-mail PerrineauPR@gmail.com.
