NEW YORK HIP HOP LEGENDS M.O.P. SET TO RELEASE NEW STUDIO ALBUM, FOUNDATION, ON E1 MUSIC ON JUNE 30th, 2009

E1 Music/Blaze is set to release Foundation, the long-awaited new studio album from New York hip hop legends M.O.P (Billy Danze and Lil’ Fame). Foundation features Busta Rhymes, Beanie Siegel, Redman and Styles P, among others. The group is currently narrowing down selections from over 4 dozen newly recorded songs.

The first single, “Blow The Horns” (featuring Busta Rhymes) will be serviced to radio shortly. A video for the single will be shot in New York City in the coming weeks.

About Foundation, M.O.P.’s Billy Danze says, “Thanks to Alan for believing in us and allowing us to do our thing. This is a big thing for us and a big thing for hip hop. Right now, hip hop needs M.O.P. It needs the foundation.”

E1 Music General Manager Alan Grunblatt adds, “M.O.P. is one of the greatest hip hop groups of all time. I was fortunate to sign them when I was running Relativity and am thrilled to be working with Billy, Fame and Laze again.”

M.O.P. formed in Brooklyn in 1992 and quickly released the single “How About Some Hardcore,” which was featured in the film House Party 2. Their debut album, To The Death, followed in 1994. In 2000, M.O.P. released the album Warriorz, which included the hit “Ante Up.” The group continued to release several more albums and a slew of mixtapes, and has built one of the most loyal audiences in hip hop today.
